JMJ Gardens is a Newburyport-area landscape design, hardscape, and custom outdoor construction company led by owner Justin Jewett.
Justin grew up in the Newburyport area, where he could usually be found at the local skate park, at the beach, or outside working with his hands. He began working in landscaping when he was young and has now spent more than a decade running his own business and developing a deep understanding of plants, construction, design, and the New England landscape.
What started as years of hands-on experience has grown into a company built around the things Justin genuinely cares about: thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, creative problem solving, and creating outdoor spaces that feel connected to the property around them.
From hardscapes and landscape installations to custom-built outdoor structures, Justin approaches each project with an eye for design and a respect for the land. He believes the best outdoor spaces work with their surroundings rather than against them—considering the home, existing landscape, plants, drainage, materials, and how the property will continue to evolve over time.
The goal is simple: create something beautiful, functional, and lasting that feels like it truly belongs there.

Creative by Nature – Justin loves projects that give him something to design, solve, and build. That creativity carries from landscapes and custom hardscapes into his life outside of work, where he can often be found surfing, traveling in search of sun and waves, or working on custom van builds.
Connected to the Landscape – Plants, natural materials, and the environment are a genuine part of why Justin loves this work. His approach is grounded in creating spaces that respect the property, respond to the New England climate, and work with the natural surroundings.
Personal Service – Justin is the owner and the face behind JMJ Gardens. He is honest, approachable, and invested in the outcome of every project. Clients are not simply handing off a job—they are working with someone who listens carefully, understands their vision, and genuinely wants to see it through.
